• **Please note:  To participate in our formal online trial examination please consider applying for the 12 week ALL TOPICS course. A formal trial exam is not offered in this 6 week course.

Course inclusions

• Live daily classes including topic reviews and role-playing practice facilitated by our experienced tutors.
• Structured timetable – We provide a structured timetable so you can pre-read about the topics you will role-play with your tutor.
• Interaction with trained Simulated Patients – We offer our unique simulated patient sessions where candidates can test their consulting skills with a trained simulated patient who can provide real to life responses and feedback.
• Communication and language skills –Communication is a big reason for failure in the exam. At HEAL, we offer an expert in communications and language who will teach you the appropriate approach to patients for the exam).  These sessions will help to refine your communication skills, body language, and appropriate spoken language. Sessions will cover breaking bad news scenarios, managing angry patients, mania, etc.
• Access to the Therapeutic Guidelines – Students will have access to the full Therapeutic Guidelines database for the duration of the course.  You are able to apply for an additional 12 months access under our exclusive arrangement with Therapeutic Guidelines.
• Access to HEAL online and tutor presentations – HEAL’s Learning Management System (E-learning) provides a significant amount of information on relevant and current AMC topics for you to review throughout the duration of the course. Students will also have access to tutor presentation slides for the duration of your course.
• Student chat room – Students will be able to consolidate their learning and continue practicing role-plays outside of class hours with other students in the course.

• Proficiency in the English language is recommended
• A reliable internet connection 
• Access to a computer, tablet or smartphone and a quiet space
• To be involved in role-plays you will need a webcam and microphone

FAQs

How much time should I allocate for the course?

The course includes approximately 18 hours per week of live webinars. You need to allocate additional time for pre-reading before each webinar. We estimate up to 3 hours, but that will depend on the topic and your current knowledge. Time will be scheduled in your course timetable for pre-reading however it can be done at any time around your other commitments.

What time are the webinars planned?

The webinars will be scheduled consistently Monday to Friday, from 1pm - 4pm (Syd/Melb time).  No weekend webinars are planned. If you are in another Australian state or territory, or in another country, please check your local time. On some days, there will be a morning and an afternoon webinar, as per the schedule.

What are the system requirements?

We use ZOOM for webinars. You can download the free app to view webinars. Zoom works seamlessly across PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
